Snow removal services can post here

We do not allow business related posts on the message board.  However since this is a massive storm and a lot of people may need help, I'm allowing businesses that offer snow remove to post their contact information on this thread only.

I'm completely overwhelmed by the snow in my short driveway and I would gladly pay someone to remove it for me. I'm on Roland Ave. in South Orange. Help!

I'm at Orchard in Maplewood -- need help!

My yard guy Henry 973-960-9681 does plowing.  He is probably quite busy so you will probably have to leave a message.  He is honest, hard working and industrious.  Call or text him.   Tell him his client, Sarah Macyshyn recommended him.

corner of Prospect and Elmwood--a lot of sidewalk!

Henry has gotten over 30 calls since I posted his number.    He will get back to you as soon as he can

Driveway

Looking to hire someone to clear my driveway from street to garage, where the car is safely entombed.  Probably 25 feet, including the huge snow pile created by the plows.

Osborne Terr, Mplwd

Hi, my name is Ellie, at 55B Newark Way (right next to Air Royal)

I am disabled and my husband is recovering from surgery on his foot. We are in dire need of having our snow shoveled, just a walkway from the steps to the car and the back of the driveway so I can get to a doctor's appointment Wednesday, January 27th. Help, please.

Hi all. I was away this weekend, and came home last night completely snowed in. My snowblower cannot handle the amount so I am looking into a snow removal service today. Most of them are booked up. I would gladly pay anyone with big equipment to do this for me. Any takers?

As reported in the Village Green, an SHU fraternity is also offering shoveling help to elderly or disabled SOMA residents:

The Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity at Seton Hall University is bringing back a popular service initiated last winter: free snow shoveling for the elderly and disabled.

Alpha Sigma Phi service director Christopher Auer said that the service is available to South Orange residents. “I have been putting together a list of contacts from last year to shovel for this weekend already, but want to stress that our priority is to help the elderly and disabled. We feel they either cannot or should not be out in the cold shoveling their driveways and walkways.”

Contact Auer at alphasigvolunteer@gmail.com or call him at 973-913-4609 to get on the list. “Just a reminder that we can only do a limited number of houses per storm because of our limited number of brothers available. Therefore, not every resident is guaranteed the service, but we will have a waitlist created for following storms,” said Auer.

Im in a similar boat, except I hurt my back shoveling the night of the storm -- I keep hoping for a plow to pass through so that I could run out and offer them some money to at least push the mountain of snow away from front of my driveway... if you find someone pls post for rest of us in similar predicament... thx

it's a pity that no services are taking advantage of this thread as Jamie intended. Clearly there's a need for them! LOL

Wouldn't hold my breath. We were on their schedule since the fall but they were so overwhelmed they couldn't come. Luckily we have good neighbors. (And btw, those that they could accommodate were So Orange residents.)

Busy plowing

No kidding!  The last thing most of them need right now is more business.  Might have better luck with teens wanting to earn cash.

Every year we say this but those organizations that spend their time with cans in the village, and elsewhere, looking for donations, should be out providing a service and raising money for their cause by clearing some snow. IMHO.

Amen to that ... i would happily hand over my cash to get my car out, especially knowing it is going to a charity!

I really DON'T like those kinds of fundraisers.  There are plenty of goods/services they can sell, be it snow removal or baked goods or whatever.  Of course, people are always welcome to give them money and decline the item or service being offered and I have no problem with that, but standing with a can asking for money just sends the wrong message as far as I'm concerned.

Very true. Still, a thread attempting to match up services with people who need the help was a nice idea doomed to failure.

I also did it because one company was aggressively posting their snow removal services in every snow thread possible - so I figured this would be a good alternate.

Well, it worked out for elliemaz. So that's good. Maybe it helped other folks, too. Maybe it could be pinned up top just like Max, the Weatherman, threads.

I'm glad that you helped her out and were able to help her out. You're a good egg.
