Sloppy Saturday, Snow Likely Saturday Night

Weather Saturday is going to be sloppy. Rain/snow mix, back and forth most of the day. Don't expect significant accumulation or a hard freeze, but not a day for a picnic.

Sunday the system is still modeled to be well offshore and of no concern.

Still keeping an eye on this one. Could be 2 or 3 inches after it turns back to snow Saturday night. Really hard to forecast right now, the NWS unsure of the strength and with this one the amount of precipitation will have a lot to do with the type of precipitation. Heavier falling will cool the atnosphere faster and made snow more likely.

Snow would end around daybreak Sunday.

College kid has a flight back to school (end of Spring Break.) Should she be trying to change it to Sunday?

I think we are looking at a manageable snowfall, especially during the day. Delays, maybe, but this should not, based on what I see right now, shut the airports.

Will we want to stay off the roads Sat afternoon or just take it slow?

Right now, Saturday afternoon is all rain.

She ended up on a flight tonight, because she has an event at her destination tomorrow and is traveling with her cat. Just took her to the airport.

Maybe a little snow overnight tonight, no serious accumulation.

Changes to rain around midday Saturday, not too heavy.

Back to snow tomorrow night, possibly 2 - 3" by daybreak. Snow ends early Sunday morning.

This morning's forecast is much dryer. The last few model runs have consitently shown less precipitation. The main track of the event has also moved a bit south, taking us out of the major precipitation bands.

Light snow today and tonight. Perhaps 1/2" today, and less than an inch tonight, of accumulation.
