Sewing Machine Repair/Recondition

Thought I'd seen this topic fairly recently, but search doesn't reveal it. Anybody know of a place nearby to service a long-disused Pfaff?  Many thanks

We went to Elizabeth - they were really good : http://www.elizabethsid.org/ne...

Give them a call - I think this is the one we used - can't see it on google street view at the moment though.

Ah, I see the Singer sign now - looks like they're gone from there - try the # - maybe they moved.

I've heard of this place in Union, but haven't yet used them:

Singer Service Center, 488 Chestnut Street, Union, NJ, http://singerservice.net/

Also, FabricLand, 855 Routh 22 West, North Plainfield NJ, http://fabricland.com/

I have used FabricLAnd to service my Bernina.

I was going to post about the Singer service center in Union.  (Caveat - I haven't been in a few years, but it seemed like the sort of place that would be there forever.)

If you have an older sewing machine, be aware that some repair shops will tell you that the machine can't be repaired simply because they are not interested in working on it.  I don't know the reputations of the above mentioned shops, but thought I'd warn you.  I repair vintage sewing machines as a hobby, and some of the machines I have received that were deemed "beyond repair," had one or two simple things wrong with them and were up and working again within an hour or two.  PM me for more details, if you want.
