Seepage Pit?

Hi,

We've had extensive flooding in our driveway and, ultimately, the basement. Currently no French drains or sump pump, but are looking into having an 8ft x 8ft x 8ft seepage pit installed in the driveway to dissipate storm drain water. Wondering if anyone has done something similar, and if you've been happy with the results if so. Thank you. 

Didn't do a pit but an around the wall french drain and sump pump was one of the best investments to our home in Maplewood!
