Runner-friendly podiatrist?

I'm having undetermined issues with my foot, and I'm not feeling confident that my current podiatrist is the right fit. Does anyone have a suggestion for a podiatrist who actually "gets" runners? Like, if I tell them I'm training for a half marathon they'll understand what that means and help me through it? Thanks for any suggestions!

Try these guys: aprcnj.com

I go for a knee problem, but they also do podiatry, all sports based.

That's where I've been going smirk Really good experience with Courtney for my knee as well, but for the foot at this point I'd like a second opinion

Dr. John Moglia in Berkeley Heights is a runner himself. I recommend highly.

Dr. Moglia is a nice guy, and yes, a runner.

Dr Goldberg, who is herself a runner

That's good to know! First name?

Dr. Jordan Steinberg in west orange. Great doc

I see you are already on the case. I just responded to you over on the orthotics thread.

I think she means Dr Karyn Goldberg at The Podiatry Center on Milllburn Ave. She's my doc and I really like her.

Yes, that's the one altho for some reason I thought she had the standard spelling of "Karen."

I responded to this regarding a PT rec a few days ago but it seems to have disappeared. I went to Parabolic in Montclair. The other one I really considered was the one next to Motion Fitness Gym in Millburn. I looked at all the bios of the therapists, at what services were offered, ease of parking and insurance. Parabolic does not take any insurance; but they look at what your insurance would pay and then give you a rate. Mine was $15 per session which was cheaper than going to a place that DID take my insurance! Other people there were paying different rates. I picked parabolic because they offered the most services. If I had to do it again, I would go to the other one in Millburn just because it is closer. I did my research eliminating some others that were on a list given to me by APRC. After my first hour long evaluation session, I went 2 to 3 times a week. You get about 20 minutes with PT; they do Graston, ART, dry needling, etc. Then I spend the rest of the house doing the exercises and strength training that I was given. They have people who work with you and the program changes as you get stronger. It was hard work. But it was very valuable. I learned a lot and keep up with the exercises a year later.
