Restoration Hardware faucets archived

Neighbors...

Has anyone used Restoration Hardware bathroom fixtures in their home? We're beginning to look for new sink and tub sets but the megachains have nothing we like. Haven't seen anything in the major brand catalogs either (Moen, Kohler, etc.). Too modern maybe...

Waterworks and Restoration Hardware both have fixtures we really like - they look good in the catalog anyway. Waterworks is way out of our price range. Restoration has very similar styles (knock-offs?) but don't know anything about the quality - they didn't look AS nice in the store, of course.

I've only heard one second-hand story about RH fixtures: a towel rack's finish peeled off. RH replaced it and the new one was fine.

So back to the original question: anyone have personal experience with Restoration Hardware faucets, or know who manufactures them for RH? A general thumbs-up or thumbs-down will do as well...

Thanks!
The faucets sold by HD and Lowes show the same name as the popular brands but they are produced with plastic inserts instead of metal causing the product to be inferior. It is possible the R.H. are the same. I have been getting my faucets on Faucet.com or even Overstock.com for a fabulous discount. Check it out.

One thing to think about is that faucets, especially the cartridge, don't last forever. Buying a brand name greatly increases the chance of being able to buy replacement parts when you have a problem. With an off brand or no name faucet you may be faced with replacing the whole thing.
