Restaurant near John Golden Theater, 252 W. 45th St.

We're going to see Skylight at a matinee tomorrow, and are going with a friend who has trouble walking. Looking for a restaurant not too far from the theater - casual, reasonable.  Thanks.

LL - Thanks. It doesn't open until 4:00pm weekdays. We're going to a matinee.

Juniors on 45th between Broadway and 8th.  Leave room for cheesecake!

PetuniaBird - Thanks. Juniors has been recommended a lot and it's nice to get a MOL recommendation. The location is perfect.

Another option: Cafe un deux trois at  (as the name implies) 123 W. 44th. It's a few hundred feet further walk than junior's, but the food's quite a bit better, IMO.  It's a little pricier than juniors, but not expensive, per se.  It's a really nice room, too.  Feels a bit more like an 'experience'.

Agreed!! That's one of my favorite theatre district recommendations.

eta: oops, just read the previous comments that it's not open for lunch. Got carried away in my enthusiasm oh oh

Angus McIndoe

Joe Allen (around the corner)

Orso

Sardi's (for the atmosphere if not for the food)

If Ninth Avenue isn't too far, there are a number of good choices in the block or two there.

I would look west, not east, of the Theater, and would avoid Juniors.
