Replacement windows?

Old 6/6 double hung windows [these plus five others]. All the other windows in house were replaced prior to purchase. Suggestions on what type? who to install? any and all help is appreciated!

They are very nice.

If you replace them consider a sash pack. Replacement windows will close down that opening a little more, and it is already odd in a nice way.

Thank you, they are nice looking windows but screens and storm windows - not fun, and drafty.

It depends on whether you want wood, composite or vinyl. Most likely they are custom sizes that you will have to special order as opposed to standard replacement windows. You can go to Jaeger Lumber or Windowrama to check out the selection. HD has some too, but I am never confident with special orders there.

any recs on who to hire to install?

We had Wilber's carpenter install for us. If you are part of the fb lounge group, there was a similar question there recently that you can search. Many installers were mentioned in that thread.
