Recycling Pick-Up on Monday is On!

According to DPW, Gaeta is working on Monday so put your recycling out Sunday night!

WOW that is unexpected. Thanks for the heads up !

I thought that the original announcement said no pickup on holidays. (Not that I'm complaining and am happy for the "heads up".) I hope they don't choose this day to hit my street at 6:00 am like they did a few weeks back though ... boy are those trucks noisy!

She (Donna) said they were shocked that they're working on Monday, but that's what they were told. I must sleep like a rock; I never hear them! LOL!

thanks for the heads up

I hope Gaeta received a heads up regarding the temporary closing of certain streets on Monday for the parade. I would hate to see a recycling truck trapped on the street while being swarmed by parade marchers.

Tell them to bring bunting, just in case.

Actually, while I am happy to have my stuff picked up (as long as they don't wake me up!),I feel bad for the workers not getting the holiday. Is this really worth it to us?

As a service organization advocating a greener environment, they might be welcome in the parade but should check with the parade organizer for verification of this supposition. If approved, their truck should be in the teacher's parking lot no later that 8:15 am. Bunting a nice touch not required.

Should definitely not happen !

That's so odd. Their website says that pickup should be on Tuesday:

"When a holiday falls on a Monday, recycling will be picked up on Tuesdays"

This would be my preference. Fairer to the recycling company workers and less chance of an early wake-up on a holiday for me!

so will the parade route be full of recyclables on the street?

It has curious that there has been no town email about this. I've only seen it here and, clearly, MOL is not really the best way to communicate notices of this sort. I guess I'll put mine out just in case.

If they ARE doing a pickup there will be a lot of people who didn't get the word.
