I agree about the episode. The last couple of shows, the Trump surrogate de jour did nothing but blabber endlessly, cutting off the other guests and making absolutely no sense. Bill didn't take charge of the yelling, just sat back helplessly. Not good at all. He should not have them on if they can't behave. Fair and balanced my foot!

HBO has never claimed to be fair and balanced. It's pretty damn liberal most of the time, in fact.

HBO has never claimed to be fair and balanced. It's pretty damn liberal most of the time, in fact.

I was referring to Bill Maher in particular, not HBO in general. He has these giant A-holes on (think his VERRRRY good friend Ann Coulter) to show he's fair and balanced with what guests he has on, when these people do nothing but disrupt any kind of intelligent conversation. I'd love to see an honest discourse between people with differing views, but that's impossible in this day and age. He should stick to preaching to his choir.

The reason guys like Moore shout everyone else down is that their ideas don't stand up to intelligent scrutiny. Moore in particular is one of the most egregious. He economic "theories" aren't supported by any evidence, and on top of that he often makes glaring errors when he tries to cite data in support of his ideas. He shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a TV camera.

Sometimes I think Bill goes out of his way to be civil to his right wing guests so they won't feel uncomfortable about coming back on the show. I thought his final segment on Trump surrogates was great though...

I'm not going to defend Moore, but I find the idea that the discussion was otherwise intelligent to be hilarious.
