Questions about reupholstering a chair

I found several recommendations for Ultimate on Valley in S.O. Are they still there? Do they have fabric there or do I need to get it myself and bring it to them? Do they pick up and deliver? I have fabric chairs from my mother's house that probably need new stuffing and cushions any idea of cost? The chairs are fabric currently, but because of allergies, we prefer leather. Would leather work?

Thanks!

I'm clueless. I really want to use these chairs, but right now they are full of allergens and making me miserable. Getting them redone feels completely overwhelming.

Yes, they are still there. Yes, they have fabric, but I'm not sure about leather. Yes, they pick up and deliver. Cost depends, but professional re-upholstery doesn't come cheap, but if the chairs are good quality it's probably worth it. It would still probably be less money than buying new. I would suggest calling or stopping by and asking them these questions

They did my sofa during the winter so I believe they are still there! They've done a lot of work for me over the years and it's always top notch and fairly priced. And yes they pick up and deliver. Speak to Cino. I usually buy my own fabric but I'm sure they can show you things too. If you choose to buy your own, Cino will tell you how much you need when he gives you your estimate. I'd suggest looking at Tela Fabrics at 1500 Main Avenue in Clifton, just down from Corrado's. The place looks pretty unprepossessing, but they have incredible deals on high-end decorator fabrics. Highly recommended. (There are also a few places in the NYC fabric district where you'll find good deals.)

They also did some pieces for me back in Nov. Price depends on your choice of fabric - yes, they have books from which to choose a fabric - pretty sure they have leather. I don't know if he would tell you if something is not worth doing - he did tell us that the pieces we have were worth the investment.

They reupholstered this chair for me. Although you canbuy fabric from them, I found this fabric online and brought it to them. I would definitely use them again.

Ultimate did a fantastic job completely rebuilding an old upholstered chair for us. They also created a new leather seat for a Stickley rocker. Not "cheap," but well worth the investment.

Would you guys mind giving approximate prices? I have a couple of chairs that I have to decide to reupholster or throw out! I would go to the fabric cubbyhole places in NY to get the fabric.

callista, I sent you a PM

We have a couch in there now. We asked about a chair (fully upholstered) and were told $700 plus fabric (you can supply fabric but we have found that he gives a pretty good price)
