Positive changes are coming, I need a counselor/therapist to shepherd me through the process

Good morning all.  Spring is in the air and change is inevitable.

After much thought, I have decided to rearrange a few things in my work and family life.  It is all positive, I have everyone's support and the exciting new changes will likely result in all sorts of personal growth (or at least an adventure).  On the outside I am shouting "Let's do this!" but on the inside I am a nervous wreck.  It's just who I am and the way that I am wired.

I am a grown woman with kids and a husband.  I live/work in a fast-paced world so I am  looking for a no-nonsense, efficient counselor. I have no desire to go through weeks of talk therapy getting to the root of my anxiety, it is simply at given at this point.  I am at peace with my Nervous Nelly nature and I recognize that it is often a gift.  I will, however, gladly go through weeks of trial and error attempts at stress-busting strategies so that I can stay focused and on an even keel during these transitions.

Please send me a note, or list a name here, if you know of anyone you think could help me with this.  I think the guidance I am looking for boils down to stress-management and breaking a few bad habits (and perhaps creating a few good new ones.) Thank you!

You may want to search the archives for cognitive behavior therapy/CBT, since it sounds (to my layman's ear) like what you are discussing, and I know there are a few threads with detailed recommendations.

Julia Turovsky in Chatham. No nonsense. Will get to the heart of things without dragging it out!

Supportive, holds you accountable, planning!   you will not be laying on the couch for years on end, rather moving forward with your life and what supports you!

All the best!

Have you thought about a life coach instead of a therapist....Keep you on task and on target and work with you through the fear?
