Planning a birthday party for a senior citizen

Starting to plan a birthday party for my mother who will turn 90 in the summer.  Thinking a luncheon for 40-50 people.  Would like to stay relatively local if possible, but pretty, maybe a nice view with good food?  Thoughts? Thanks in advance

NIce view usually = $$$

If you want to stay local, Boccone and Giorgios would probably be able to  accommodate the amount of people in their main level spaces (which may or may not be a concern), and both have multi-generation pleasing menus. Both are BYO.

MCloones in WO supposedly has a nice brunch. I've never been, but with the reservoir right there it might be a nice view and who doesn't love a summer brunch on the water? Also in WO, the Manor and highlawn pavilion both are very scenic and for a luncheon may not be too bad for the budget.

With your number of guests, any of the catering places may be able to accommodate, and a summer afternoon might be slightly more budget friendly.

Thanks!  I heard McLoones is very nice, but the online reviews were mixed, not great for service or food.

yes, I've heard the same. But perhaps if you're hosting a private event it would be better!

How recent are the reviews you have seen? Perhaps things have improved at McLoone's, because it would sure meet the criteria for view and proximity.

Something you might consider is that the high ceilings at McLoone's makes the place noisy. A lot of us senior citizens have difficulty discerning conversation in space like that.

in the summer, though, the party could be held on a patio?

Although you make a very valid point about senior ears. I have one dead ear and one very good ear, and noisy restaurants are so frustrating for me...
