@marksierra, was that Festival Hall?
No. Melbourne Town Hall, I believe.
It was a Full House. It used to be that you could get (cheaper?) tickets to a concert where you were sitting on the stage, behind the performer/s, but in full view of the main body of the audience.
Years ago, I was at the Melbourne Town Hall for a concert featuring the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. I had scored a seat on stage, up behind the Orchestra and, as quite often happens when you relax and close your eyes to listen to the performance, I fell asleep. I think my head tilted but, at least, I didn't snore.
The other aspect of the on-stage seating is you hear the orchestra from behind, so the sound balance is slightly different.
This is a still from the same Pete Seeger concert
