Pesky raccoons

Can anyone recommend some good pest proof trash cans? I got some nice plastic ones last year with attached lids when my garbage started getting eaten. They quickly figured out how to get in, so I started leaving a brick on the lids. Now they have somehow figured out how to get in without disturbing the brick. Smart buggers. I was thinking about getting metal ones, but I'm not sure if that would be ok with waste industries. Anyone have a recommendation?

Thanks

These fit over existing trash cans. We've had ours for a few years and although raccoons have actually gnawed on the trashcan lids (so we know they're still trying to get at that delicious, delicious garbage), they just can't figure out the buckle on the top. SUCK IT, RACCOONS.

We have a metal can and use WI. No problem there, but I have found in the winter, they still figure tout how to get in. Maybe they are smarter when they're really hungry.

We use a metal can, and use bungee cords to secure the lid (use two cords: one from each side handle to hook to the top lid handle. Could possibly get a longer cord that can hook from handle-to-handle (over the lid, though top handle)). Then they knock the can over, but the lid stays on. (We sometime put a brick as well, when we have particularly smelly trash, and the falling brick scares them away from trying much harder after they knock the can over).

I also tried some velcro straps, but the WM guys occasionally pulled them off the can (rendering them unusable), instead of opening the velcro straps.
