Short Hills and South Orange post offices offer passport services.
I needed to renew my passport last year and found the P.O. hours difficult to work with. Then I found out about the Essex County Clerk Outreach service and was able to renew in person on a week night at Maplewood Town Hall (the clerk then mailed it in). It worked out really well- I was so relieved. Here is info about that service...

Below is the schedule for February. Unfortunately, they were just recently at Maplewood but they're due to be in Montclair and Millburn soon.

My passport had expired. I was able to get the paperwork from the Maplewood post office. I filled it out and then had to deliver it to the Millburn PO. They were wonderful and sent it in. I quickly received the new passport.
Went to Union P.O yesterday with no difficulty for renewal. Book a time online and show up.

Has anyone had their passport/passports renewed in person in NJ recently (for Aduts)? I just called the Short Hills P.O. and they said that renewals are not done in person and can only be done via mail. Just wanted to check if there is anywhere to do this in person before mailing everything in. Thanks in advance for any help, JL
