Participated Discussions

The only particiapted discussions that I show on the new site are the ones that I participated in on the new site. None of the ones from yesteryear are listed?

Also there is no way to tell on the My Discussions tab if any have new/unread posts. How do we figure that out?

This will be tweaked at some point - not top of the list - but we're aware of it.

And bookmarks don't have the unread # capability yet either:

Jamie & Dave - You know that you have a very demanding user group and past performance has set a high bar.  But I think I speak for most of us when I say that this has gone extremely well and we applaud the progress to date.  Looking forward to the evolution!

Concurred. Please don't take my posts for complaints. I'm merely pointing out errors I'm encountering while you're ironing out the kinks here.

Where is the Participated Discussions? I see Joined Discussions and My Discussions. However under Joined Discussions for me it shows discussions I never participated in. My Discussions are the ones I started. Toggling back and forth is difficult; I assume it will be worked out. From avatarless Wendy (for now until I figure out how to get a cool Tug McGraw signed baseball again)

Yes - I'm not too sure - it's on our list.

I meant Joined discussions since I assumed that was the same thing as the former participated discussions.

Jamie, you guys have done a stellar job. For things to be working so well at this point is really remarkable. Well done!!!!

Thanks - a lot of credit goes to my programmer, Pavel - who has turned into more of a partner over the past couple years.  I was skeptical that we'd be able to pull off what we've done so far.  And it's just the beginning . . .

 Absolutely. It's a very unnecessary category and just want to be clear that it in no way is participated discussions and I think jamie understands that now. 

Wendy, while I recognise that from our view it's frustrating (I'm forever mis-clicking on the wrong threads), it's also showing us a miracle of behind-the-scenes work in the tracking of our activity, to log our thread count (now I feel like bed linen) and comment count, our 'hit list', so to speak. An enormous job for many of us. I'm in awe of the work these guys have done and are doing.

So do I.  Wasn't doing it, but now happening a lot.  Also, oddly, is the off and on period insertion after tapping two spaces.  Weird.   

I've noticed that for me the sign-back-in period is if I leave the wifi area OR if I'm quiet/inactive for a long time (a couple of hours). Apparently, just checking a main screen is enough to maintain activity (but hard to do if you're asleep or otherwise busy)

I stayed logged in all day yesterday, but this morning I found I had to log in again. Maybe not such a bad thing.

But please don't call it yet Participated Discussions if it isn't. Edited to clarify:

There is now a Participated Discussions tab (along with a My Discussions tab) but it really is ALL the Discussions that one has viewed even if one didn't comment in them.

This should be more accurate now.  The one issue currently is that it links to the start of the thread - this will be adjusted in the near future to link to last read comment.
