My son (now almost 22 so it's been awhile) went to the YMCA camp at Fairview Lake. It's close by, but in a remote location. It's a great, basic, old-fashioned camp. They have one week options for kids trying camp out. It's not expensive, compared to other sleep away camps (none of them are cheap).
Camp Hoover is also a great option (lots of old threads discussing it if you want to search)
Both of my granddaughters went to the Y camp Chimney Corners, and loved it.
Camp Onas, in Pennsylvania on the other side of the Delaware River from Frenchtown, is a lovely Quaker camp that both my daughters loved. It's simple, tech-free, old-fashioned and imbued with Quaker values. It has one- and two-week options, plus it's very reasonably priced.

Hi:
Does anyone have recommendations for a one or two-week sleep away camp for a girl entering fourth grade? Ideally the camp would only be about 1 1/2 hours away.
