Norovirus bug going around?

Last night was a doozy, no sleep, pain, and episodes at least every hour.  Am I a lone case or have any others locally been recently hit?  My sympathies to any other victims...this is not fun.  My honey out now buying Gatorade and pedialite.   Hopefully will be able to keep them down.  On happy note I'm at least 4 lbs lighter this morning.

Not sure if it is noro, but a wicked bug has been going around for the last 2 weeks, hitting children, adults, whole families etc.  Thankfully, the worst part of the illness seems to only last 8 to 12 hours.

Feel better!

Haven't been hit here, but my friend had a sudden onset of a stomach-something over the weekend.

My daughter, a CHS student was home for two days with that, just went back to school today, not fun. Feel better.

I got it Sunday, thought I was better yesterday morning and it came back last night. Yes, losing 6 lbs in a few days is surely the ONLY up side! Ugh!

OK - for those of you who have had it, what is the onset like - sudden or gradual?  I've heard it's very sudden from others.  I am fearful and curious since today I feel a bit queasy and last Sunday Lanky Jr. had this virus.  Not sure if it is psychosomatic / last night's odd chicken dish or Lanky Jr's infection...

mine was very sudden. Woke up very early Sunday morning with string need to vomit. No symptoms prior

For me kind of sudden.  I ate dinner last night, didn't feel like it was digesting, had a very full feeling even an hour later.  Then queasiness kicked in, then boom.  All developed within 2 hour span.

I can't read this thread.

We all had a strange nausea sickness last week (with a slight fever), but there was no vomiting. Ours lasted 24 hours or so.  Maybe we got a mild version and we're protected??

I got it too Monday evening ~ But I remembered I had some ginger candy and started chewing on them and it helped somewhat !  Ginger is great for stomach and nausea but doesn't stop the "events" !

My sister and her husband had this last week too.

Update - Mrs. Lanky, who also woke up this morning feeling queasy, just started to "release the hounds" (meaning vomiting)...

My sincerest sympathies.  Hunker down for a looooong evening.

If it's norovirus, it will be sudden.

A couple of colleges have had to close down. http://www.foxnews.com/health/2016/03/10/lafayette-college-closes-as-dozens-ill-with-norovirus.html

We all had it unfortunately.  Came on sudden for three other family members- for me though, I went to bed feeling a nauseous and a full feeling only to wake up two hours later to hell.  We all had 24 hours of fever, body aches and and chills. By hour 36 we all started feeling a little better.
