No Fios Again: Update

Anyone else lose Fios?  No tv, internet, or phone.  Lost it about 10 minutes ago.

Can't get through to anyone at Verizon and their website isn't helping.

Where are you? No problems on academy in SO.  Are there tree limbs around your lines?

No problem here either.  Could be a downed line leading to your house or the battery could have gone.

did you try unplugging, waiting a few minutes and plugging back in.

also make sure all wires are tightly plugged, I have one that doesn't plug tight..it will look connected, but isnt, the slightest thing dislodges it

Thanks all.  I am near Boyden and Parker.  Appears it is just us without service.  We were finally able to get through to someone and they opened a repair ticket for us.  They actually had a tech out within a couple of hours.

Could I be this lucky????

Nope!!!  Tech closed out the ticket because no one was home.  My wife had the curtains open so she could see when they arrived.  The tech stopped in front of the house for under 30 seconds and pulled away.  Both of us received an email stating "we are sorry we missed you, we have closed your ticket."

My wife calls them back and tells the rep what happened, the rep apologizes and sends a new tech right out.  Not too bad, still within the few hour time frame.  The tech shows up and goes to the side of the house where the box is located and then gets in his truck and leaves. My wife said he didn't touch anything.  She calls Verizon

and goes through the whole ordeal again.  This time the rep says the tech couldn't do anything because that side of my house was flooded.  When I got home my wife explains to me what had transpired, so I go outside to check out the flooding and there is a half inch of water standing there.  It was a freaking puddle about 18" in diameter.

Now they don't have any techs available until tomorrow.  I really hate Verizon.

So here is the final outcome:  Verizon was supposed to have a tech at my house between 8 and 10 this morning.   No show.  My wife calls Verizon and goes off the deep end when the rep says there is nothing she can do, other than to open another ticket for Wednesday afternoon.  Rep refused to put a supervisor on the phone but said one would call us when they could.  My wife wasn't having any of that and argued until they agreed to send a tech around 2 p.m. today.

Tech comes out in that heavy burst of rain we had this afternoon.  I immediately run out to talk with him to explained what had transpired yesterday and today.  He apologizes profusely for the aggravation we went through.  He looks at the box and says we should have a new box installed.  Now I am thinking here we go again, but nope, he says he is going to make the repair, install a new box, and relocate the box to a better location.

He said the techs yesterday were just lazy!!  It didn't matter if it was raining and the puddle shouldn't have stopped them.  This guy was one of the few old timers still with verizon who cares about his work.  He has been there 23 years.

I sent Verizon an email complaining about yesterday's experience and complimenting the tech today.  I wish I could have done more for him.  I offered coffee, soda, lunch, and even cash but he wouldn't take anything.
