NJ Transit buses on residential streets?

Twice today I had a NJ Transit bus (70 Livingston Mall to Newark route) travel down our small residential street.  We live on a side street off Valley in MW.  Yes, it can be a cut through street but it's narrow, residential, on a steep hill and full of children.  It just seems absolutely pointless and unsafe.  I've also seen huge rumbling trucks do the same on our street.

Who should I contact?  The Maplewood TC?  NJ Transit?  I've complained to the NJ Transit website once before over iced over stairs at the SO train station and never saw anything done so I'm sort of loathe to use the website.

Did it happen during the rain?

No I don't think so. It was after the rain.  Was there flooding along Valley or Springfield that I'm not aware of?

Usually, an NJT bus will only deviate from their assigned route when the street it would normally travel on is closed to traffic.  Given the heavy rain this afternoon, it is entirely possible that Millburn Avenue was flooded near Valley Street.

Also, Millburn Ave was closed from Valley towards Vauxhall today.

There was water main work in the Wyoming area and at least one accident on Millburn Ave. near Ridgewood today. Also Cypress near the bus turnaround was shut off much of the day for police and fire truck activity. Is this a one-off or have you noticed it for longer?

If it's a one-off kind of thing, I wouldn't complain. If it happens all the time, contact NJ Transit.

it's Busytown around here this week!
