Good way to cut down on scalpers. Interesting to see that there's no VIP option anymore.

I'm bummed that they canceled Special Edition NYC. I *really* enjoyed that show - basically a low-stress giant artists' alley with an incredible lineup of talent. Got to have some great conversations with my favorite artists and writers without having to stand in endless lines.

i registered just now in case we're still here in october. Took all of 5 mins.

I find the amount of people that aren't reading posts on fb and emails from NYCC alarming. They ask the same questions over and over. Many thought tickets were going on sale on 5/20. Based on the number peope who cant or wont read it might be easier to get tickets this year.

Also there are many posters that bring up a good point , how much of an issue is "scalping" or "secondary market sellers" ? There are a relatively small number of tickets and many many people trying to buy them. The "scalpers" are confined to the same ordering system as regular fans. Blaming them is easier than the reality of something like 15 fans fighting for 1 ticket? Last year one could buy tickets online, buy tickets at special edition (both saturday and sunday) or at Midtown comics. The second day at special edition there was literally no line for tickets. The sale at midtown had large chunks of time where NO ONE was in line and posts of social media by NYCC and Midtown indicated that a certian point in time they lifted restrictions on limits and were selling as many tickets as one could afford.

This is con is huge. Each year reedpop and showclix have a harder time getting their ***** together when it comes to ticket sales. Hopefully this SDCC style system will allow a smoother transaction for all.
