New turf at underhill

Looks like it’s being replaced

However, the planning was very poor.  District waited too long and had to schedule turf replacement in the middle of the spring sports season.

Yes, the boys' lacrosse team, which earned a home game in the state tournament, will now have to play it on the road.

At least they don't have to play it in the road.

Progress

you can place some cameras on your fence and capture any shenanigans going on in there after dark.

Here’s another clue for you all: The baller was Paul.

Does anyone have an update on expected re-opening?

I asked a Jaguars coach tonite - he didn’t know. He told me they were told work would begin mid June, and were blindsided when work began mid May. He said he saw material on-site which made him think track was also being replaced, though he didn’t think it (track) was in need of repair (or replacement).
Possibly the field is open already and I just don’t know about it.

They're still busy working on it - field goals aren't back up yet.

I didn't think the track and field repairs were necessarily concurrent, but maybe it's easier to do so.

Did they do anything with the track, or was it just the field?

I don’t see any work being done to the track.

I think in the past few days the focus has been painting the new lines and yard numbers, Columbia name in the end zone and a huge logo in the center of the field.

I love Jamie's photos taken through the tree branches.  It is like he is a spy taking photos of a top-secret site.

Anyone knows what those big bags contain?

I’ve not reported these weekly, Saturday violations of the gas leaf blower ordinance yet. Multiple houses - annoys me to no end.

Should I? On the fence, as I try not to be a narc.

Report it.

The Town will contact them and remind them of the ordinance. They won't get punished the first time.

This landscape company does not appear to be registered with Maplewood.

Wish I could report these guys.

All the more reason to report them to the Town.

Unless the photos were taken in South Orange.

I had a friend who lived in the very last house on south Pierson rd, who eventually sold and moved because of that noise and the golf balls breaking his windows and storm door.

I always wondered about houses close to golf courses.  Wouldn't the course be responsible to pay for broken windows?  I'm guessing you meant Pierson Road - South Pierson is on the other side of valley.

As to field progress - still no field goal yet.

Just an observation about football goal posts. Have you ever tried to kick a football through the goal posts?   It is much more difficult than you may think even for short-field goals.   Kudos to those athletes who can do this and do it at long yardage.

Yes, I used to pretend I would someday kick in the NFL.  I could kick about a 25-30 yard FG.  Not easy.

yes it’s Pierson.
I see the bags are gone, those were some huge bags. Field looks great.

I'm lucky enough to live next to a tee, instead of a green, so everyone is usually hitting away from our house. Of course we still find golf balls in the yard because so many of the players are really bad at golf.
