Need to Cover over an Old Basement Window Well

Looking for suggestions on materials and how to cover. Size is approximately 2x4 with crumbling concrete surrounding opening. Hole drops about 3 feet. Area is not highly walked around. Thought of getting a rectangular steel plate or 1" thick plywood and somehow bolting to concrete but cannot find a place to purchase steel plates. Kind of like a sewer/trench hole cover perhaps. TIA.

What about a window well cover?

I wish they made a size that fit my house's window wells. One of my projects for the summer is to construct a cover for one of my wells.

Were you thinking of something along the lines of this? http://www.usffab.com/usffab-products/catalog/details/9

Try google for "floor access grate cover"

Another option might be "diamond plate" on google shopping, although not sure you want this look for around your home.

There is two steel places on Scotland rd in orange. Drive down and stop when you see the piles of metal on the right hand side. They'll cut it to your detentions. Or you canget a peice of plexiglass. PrProbably costly though.

I had an iron one custom made and installed by John Brothers landscaping. Only a few hundred bucks and a perfect solution.
