Need help giving cat eye drops

We need help giving our cat eye drops. He's slightly feral so he doesn't like being picked up. I was able to trap him in a room last night and get the job done. Unfortunately, I can't get him in the room again. One of the drops he needs 4 times a day. Anyone out there who can help us with him?

I think you should crate him or confine him to a small room for the duration of the drops. I can loan you a crate if you don't have one

I did have him in a small room. Unfortunately, he got out and I can't get him back in. How big is the crate?

Never had a cat myself, but friends who do tell me that wrapping your cat in a big bath towel while you administer the drops is how they'd do it. Good luck - I don't think I'd want to try it with an angry, stressed animal. Did your vet have any suggestions? When my dog had an ulcerated cornea, the vet techs showed me the best way to get the drops/creams into his eyes - once he realized he'd get a special food treat with each dosing, he would stand still and let me do what had to be done. Don't think that would work with a cat, but I'll throw it out there anyway.

I think wrapping him in a bath towel and tucking him under your arm like a football, facing front so you can use the other hand to put in the drops, would be your best shot. But when you say feral, just how bad is he? You might get some good advice from Morganna or BigBen if you try PMing them. They seem to be serious cat wranglers.

Try a cat-grooming bag to restrain him?: http://www.amazon.com/Cat-Grooming-Bag-restraint-Downtown/dp/B0098AIWMG

This is just one of the restraints available on the market. As you'll read in the comments, a customer figured out how to stealthily get the cat in the bag while it distracted by food. I've never had to use one myself, but it might be worth a shot.

How do you get the cat in the bag?

We all know how to let the cat out of the bag! oh oh
