mplwd Halloween parade?

I've heard the maplewood Halloween parade this year is on Friday, true? or ghostly rumor?!

Not sure, but that was the case the last time Halloween was on a Saturday.

It will be on Friday the 30th 3-5 pm. Saw it in a Village Alliance email that was sent out this morning.

So Halloween is on a Saturday this year, when most of us are off and available to attend the parade, but instead They choose to hold the Halloween parade the DAY BEFORE Halloween, when most of us are working. BRILLANT!

The organizers run businesses, and choose not to shut them down on their busiest (most profitable) business day of the week. They give out vast amounts of free candy. You and your children can attend, or you can set up/find alternate events on Saturday.

But complaining because of your schedule is a classic example of bitching about a gift.

Well, south orange has festivities the day of...

Do they close SO Ave? And if Halloween falls on a Wednesday do they still have it on a weekend?

No - they don't close s.o. ave. The festivities are at Spiotta park then kids trick or treat at participating stores and then we go to our neighborhood & trick or treat. We prefer the s.o. event - mostly because it's our downtown & we can walk there, but also because it's a bit more laid back (at least it was when we started going when our 5th grader was a wee one - never went back to the Maplewood Halloween festivities after that - it was just too nuts for us)
