MOL Discussion Category filter - removing the political drivel

I just figured out how to remove the political nonsense from my forum list:

Click "Categories" heading on the top left (under "Start a New Discussion")
The list of categories will appear
In the shaded box for each category, there will be an "Options" dropdown on the right
Click "unfollow"

And voila! No more "rose gardens", no more "plumbing," no more nonsense!

That's what I did to rid myself of that bastion of darkness, the Education section.

Ok, this is a hidden feature - but when we upgrade this will be temporarily disabled.

We're aiming for the upgrade in the next couple weeks. I'll try to post more info in the next week or so.

Mtierney, Lanky is a returned poster who currently doesn't have their old avatar.

Pls everyone note the instructions quoted are for the Old Board, from 2006, and won't work here oh oh as has been mentioned several times, this old thread was revived as a joke; filters and emoticons and other refinements will come along soon.

Correct. This discussion started before the change to the new server on 15 April. The instructions are only relevant on the old forum. The category blocking will happen at some point. Hang in there.

I never had an avatar in the old MOL, but thanks to your avatar-shaming, I do now! It was tough to find a rose garden photo so I chose Keith Moon instead...
