Dear friends,
It’s sunset on Christmas Eve, down here. Been a stormy day with people rushing around and starting their family reunions. Our neighbours had 8 children on their trampoline at once, when the rain paused - I’m so impressed!
The DownUnder Annex contingent all hope you find equally delightful ways to rebond with your families and friends. May you all be happy, warm and safe; may Santa find you; may your tummies be full. And may willing hands help clean up!
Just after 6 a.m. here on the Gold Coast, Qld, and 7 a.m. in marksierra-land. An incredibly peaceful, gorgeous, golden morning filled spectacular birdsong. (Traffic is so low that for once all the birds can carol)
Oh! Here come there garbage men - 2 hours early! Yes, they still have to empty our home trash bins today, the general bins and the general recycling… Gd bless them, and keep them safe for keeping us safe
And a couple of jets flying overhead, probably making up for cancelled flights yesterday. I hope the crew and passengers get to enjoy their reunions, and stay safe.
Happy Christmas Day, everyone! At this hour it seems pretty wonderful - may yours be all you hope for!

Wunderbar. Vielen Dank.
Wishing MOL members Happy Holiday
It's been a long long time since I left the Maplewood/South Orange area
but being in touch with my neighbors , friends and classmates when I grew up in the area has me coming on this site to see what's going on in both towns and be able to tell the other back in the day residents how things are going.
M/SO still seems to be a great place to raise a family and a place for kids to grow up in
May your New Year see both towns continue to be that way
