Melissa Rice Maus, Beloved Wife and Mother......

Another local,  beautiful young soul has passed away. Melissa Rice Maus passed on Sunday Dec 27th. Melissa was the beloved wife of Dan and mother to two young boys, Austin and Cameron who attend first and fifth grades at Clinton School. Melissa was well loved and will be sorely missed by her friends and family. Melissa was raised in Maplewood, attended school here through to Columbia High School. She loved this community and actively chose to raise her young family here. The pain her family is suffering is so great as any loss of a loved one is for us all. Unfortunately the family suffered a recent loss of Melissa's own mom Deenie Rice approximately six weeks ago too. This family is reeling right now. They also have the added stress of not having had any type of insurance or plan in place for her unexpected passing. A Go Fund Me and another fundraiser has been started to raise money so that the family can provide their cherished wife, mother, daughter and sister a proper funeral. I am posting this here because we have a kind, caring community and I know if you are aware of this young families plight you will help in any way you can. We'd gotten the news from Clinton yesterday and were heartbroken. We didn't know Melissa, but our hearts go out to her family and friends. Thank you for posting the links.

Just heartbreaking. We too got the news from Clinton and I can't begin to imagine the depths of their grief. Hopefully the community's love and support can be a small comfort. 

What a horrible, sad year for us.  I am so sorry for this family and all who knew and loved her.
