MAPLEWOODSTOCK

The best party of the year and only minimal chatter! Who's going? Who's going to be there all day both days? What do you love about it?

I know! We are really looking forward to it. Downloaded some Rusted Root last week! Also very excited this year to be doing a new fundraiser for the CHS Football Team - I posted just a few minutes ago about that. We are going to have a kids zone with great games - kicking through uprights, photo ops with the team, an obstacle course, and a player Pie Eating Contest. I think it will be a great addition to the family feel of the day. And of course am so psyched to hear the bands!

I'll be there helping to staff the Beer Garden, a fund raiser for the SO Elks. Hope to see lots of you there.

I agree - there seems to be minimal chatter - but I think everyone will be there!

We're going! Very excited

I'm surprised there hasn't been more chatter - particularly regarding the new canopy regulations (which are a smart step & necessary). I wonder if folks haven't noticed and if there will be much grumbling about enforcement.

Someone might want to state those canopy regulations here to possibly reduce the grumbling on Saturday.

Yeah, I wonder...

its because we're all mentally preparing ourselves for 2 great days of relaxation and drinks. highlight of my maplewood summer!

there probably will be grumbling. but seriously, who thinks it's ok to pitch a tent in the middle of the hill and block the view of hundreds of people? the kind of person who doesn't think any rules or etiquette apply to them.

But when can we start putting up our canopies?

Been checking the weather reports which have been all over the place. Seems now that it'll be in our favor but HOT. Fingers crossed.

Come early this Saturday! Opening band is Rose Boulevard. A young band that plays mostly originals with a few eclectic covers. Two of the band members are brothers in their early 20's who's Dad performed at Maplewoodstock about 6 years ago in a band called "18 Months, No Interest". This is a big thrill for both Father and Sons.

Maplewoodstock is now multi-generational.

See everyone on Saturday.

I've had the privilege of playing Maplewoodstock and last year my teenage son played. Yes, a true thrill to see him up there. And an honor for our family just to be a part of one of our community's signature events.

I'll be there! Though I'll be restricted to the kiddie area all day :-(

We will be there both days....have only missed one year since it started! 2 days of peace, love, music and food!

Meow,

Tabby

Marking out our space and setting up tomorrow...cheese

People are setting up on Thursday????? I was going to go down Saturday morning, but Thursday? Will there be any spots left?

Can't wait!!!

But yeah, what?! People are setting up tomorrow? We were going to attempt a canopy early Saturday morning, maybe we'll be out of luck...

Is there a schedule posted somewhere?

I think the canopy policy needs to be amended already. No canopies before Saturday. What is a canopy anyway? I'm just bringing an umbrella. Am I going to be overwhelmed like the time I pitched my tent in a sea of RVs?

The one we were planning on is like an open-sided tent, 10x10. They have to be along the outer rim so you're giving up being front and center, but for us it's worth it to hopefully keep my kids out of the sun and have a hangout spot for friends.

I think rhw wasn't actually serious about setting up tomorrow. in fact, I would imagine the town wouldn't allow it. @carolanne, you can get the lineup at http://www.maplewoodstock.com

I agree that people should come out early. There are a lot of great bands at the top of the lineup. One of this year's featured acts - Queen Ella - opened the show on Day 2 last year and you could tell right away how strong she was.

Excellent policy on canopies and passageways! I thought that the early birds usually set up on Friday evening (?) Maybe the policy should also specify timing?

I am beyond bummed that I will miss it this year due to a family reunion, but I will be at Mwoodstock in spirit!

The way I read the canopy policy is that no umbrellas are allowed at all unless they meet the 7 foot height minimum of the canopy? Or am I misinterpreting it? We've got something similar to the photo. In the past, we've parked ourselves behind an open canopy tent so not to block views , and taken the tent down once the sun wasn't beating down on us.
