Maplewood Train Station Parking

Because the fireworks will be held on Tuesday at 9pm, there will be reduced parking on Dunnell Road on Tuesday morning. We need to keep barricades up overnight to secure the fireworks display area in the park. There will be parking on Oakview but cars will not be allowed to leave their parked spots during the fireworks.

Will signs be posted about this along the affected sections of those streets and at the station in the morning to inform commuters?

Hi Vic- I had know idea that this morning if I parked on Dunnel Road by the Maplewood Train Station i would end up getting a $35 parking ticket- who knew that the No Parking Signs were still valid after July 4th- I didn't know the fireworks were cancelled- I thought the signs didn't come down- as did many other people that were parked there too- Perhaps, in the future an e-mail should have been sent out with that information that on July 5th you can't park in the permit parking areas- Is there any way to have these parking tickets suspended? thanks for all you do- just feeling frustrated.

Very disappointed with how the parking situation was communicated to the residents as well as how the town failed to consider its impact to the commuters.  Missing your train and arriving late to work due to parking being unavailable is not acceptable.  The town should void the tickets issued, we already pay over $200/year for the "privilege' to park at the station and the tickets issued are nothing more than an additional tax.

I appreciate that the show must go on, however in the future it would be smarter to have the fireworks on the Saturday closest to the 4th of July, so in the event of foul weather there would be at least one more day as to not disrupt the parking.

  Jeez, entitled much guys?  I commute too and the "no parking" and limited hours signs were clearly posted.  It was one day.  Pay your tickets and get over it.
