Yep. We get lots of those and oak saplings too. Every year. Pull them early because they get harder to pull out by the root as they get bigger.
We sold our house in December, and I had intended to take some of the baby Japanese maples, but forgot. Boohoo.
Most likely Norway maple which is considered an invasive species.

Am I the only one? We must have 20 -30 baby maple trees growing in the yard this year!
(I was originally worried it was poison ivy. From a distance I just saw the red tinge and when I got closer I was happy to see the 5 points on the leaves.)
