Mac app says my apple ID has been disabled

But I don't know why as nothing has changed. I'm trying to download an iCloud update but each time I enter my CORRECT password, I get the message. So I reset it. All was well with reset and I also changed my security questions. Went back in to download app, receiving same message. I've checked Mac Forum and many people had the same issues (in 2014). I don't see a resolve.
