Looking for new storm windows

We have old fashioned single pane glass windows in our sunroom. The screens are shot. I would like to replace the glass with combo storm windows. The first quote I got was for well over 3k. There are 10 windows and that is a lot, I grant you, but we aren't installing new windows just the combo-type storms. Does anyone have any idea where I can go to get a better price? Who do you know who might do this kind of work? Thanks!

$300 each installed really isn't a bad price, especially since this is a sunroom and you have likely have large windows. Anything decent will be 150-175 for the window. Add in disposal of the old, labor, overhead, and a small profit and you are likely at 300.

I used Paul Lewis to put storms on my four attic windows.  I can't remember what I paid, but it likely wasn't too far from that.  It would cost far more to replace the windows with anything resembling the quality of the originals.  I would suggest getting a few more quotes, though, so you feel better about things.  Paul's cell is 201-787-6487.  I would suggest texting him.  He often has his shop open on Saturday mornings and you might be able to stop by and talk to him there (http://pickersnj.com/).

Not sure what a combo storm window is, but check out Harvey Windows. They have a warehouse in Rockaway. Just about the best glass/screen storm windows you can get. Can be fitted with low-e glass on either side. Will be custom made. They can probably refer you to an installer. A large one will run your installer about $130 to buy.
