Looking for Diaper Doublers - Any one know where to find them? archived

I picked these up on a whim at Stop N Shop awhile ago and they are the only thing that keeps my 18 month old from soaking through his diaper at night (we use Huggies Overnights Size 6). I ran out and went back to get some more and I couldn't find them. So far I've tried Stop N Shop, CVS, Pathmark, Target, Whole Foods, and Babies R Us. I looked online and found one place that has them, but I'd prefer to buy rather than order because I need them right away. Anyone else use this product and know where to find them locally?

Thanks!

Ugh...bummer. I had the same issue when I needed them for #1. They are indeed hard to find. I think I finally found them at Walmart. Good luck!

Also, cut down on the liquids after 5pm...you will need to start weaning him/her off them soon if you ever hope to have dry nights any time soon. What a battle...

nj - I haven't used the diaper doublers but we've had great luck putting a pull-up OVER my 2yo's regular diaper at night. he had leaks almost every night before, but now it's extremely rare. might at least help you get through a few days until you can find the diaper doublers.

they have disappeared...I have not found them anywhere in weeks. I used to get them at stop and shop in union. LOL

I use the adult incontinence pads as a replacement for my 18 month olds..they work just as well, although it's kind of embarrassing to buy them!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Mama, I'm going to try Wal-Mart next weekend, but I'm afraid these things have gone the way of the dodo.

Dobbler, what size incontinence pads do you buy? I started to realize that might be my next step, but the stores were picked clean of those as well! I hope to not have to buy the pull-ups (great idea - NFM) b/c his overnights are big and bulky as it is. With his huge thighs and two sets of diapers, I'd probably have buy him 3T jammies.

I was having the same problem with my son and read somewhere (Cookie maybe?) that a maxi-pad across the top of the diaper would do the trick. Tried it and it has been hugely successful. A little emasculating? Maybe. But he'll never know! And it sure beats having to change the crib bedding (not to mention the wet child) every morning.

Alternatively, you can buy a smaller size diaper, use it as a doubler by placing it inside the big size 6-ers, which I did for a long while with my heavy night time wetters.( I did not limit fluids at 18 months. jmo, ok? )I did not want a freezing cold, soaked to the skin toddler every morning, plus the cribs sheets and blankets.
To make it work, you have to sort of... turn the tabs of the smaller diaper back and get it to fit in there, you'll see if you try it. It works as a good temporary fix til you find /get your product, plus this gives you the option of having time to wait on a mail order.

I could never find them locally, back when The Syzygy Kid needed them, so I used to pick them up at the Publix in Duluth, GA.

Try a night of his regular diaper with a pull-up over it. Won't be as bulky. We've found that he rarely goes through to the pull-up (and we reuse for several days if it isn't wet); it just seems to help keep the regular diaper in place better.

We use Good Nites ( I think they are Huggie brand) . They are pull ups. They come in Boy and girl style. They have never leaked. I use size small on my 2 & 4 year olds. They are $ but worth it! Best prices have been at CVS and ShopRite.
