Lima- Peru suggestions?

My good fortune, I am headed to Lima for two days and meetings this month. Will have some free time. Anyone been?

Suggestions for must experience? Staying in Mirafloras area, also will be in Playa Pescadores.

Saw some interesting items in NYTimes "36 hours" article and the Anthony Bourdain show. But have no first hand experiences to base it on.

Go to Museo Larco, it has a great display of Inca treasures along with the history. Cala restaurant along the water has delicious food plus a nice bar area with live music.

Miraflores coastline is absolutely amazing-you can walk for miles on road/path off the street-falcon trainers and paragliders and surfers to watch!

There was a gallery / furnishings store in Miraflores that I loved so much--Cuatro En Un Baul.

The strip of restaurants / bars on the water is so fun and nice. Taxis are pretty cheap, and buses are pretty easy, too, so you might also check out the park with the mosaic wall and the kissing statue.

I loved going to the Central Market, where I saw fruits and veggies I'd never seen before. They also have tables set up at lunchtime, where you can order prepared food.

Hi! I love Lima. I have visited a few times, and have friends that live there. If possible make a reservation in advance to have dinner or lunch in their restaurants, which are the best in Latin America (Astrid y Gaston, Central). You also must have dinner (must!) at the 'Rosa Nautical' restaurant, which is by the sea (or almost in the ocean). You should also go to the Miraflores shopping center, it has an awesome view of the coast line and you can buy some alpaca goods. If you are feeling more adventurous, you can try to eat at the 'Ceviche de Ronald' which is a very famous cevicheria in Lima (it was originally a street cart, but they won a national TV reality show from Chef Gaston and now have a small establishment). You should also go to a market (Mercado de Surquillo), they are relatively small but full of local flavors, aromas, etc. I strongly recommend you to hire a local taxi driver for 1 full day to drive you around. Have fun!
