Try One Stop Repairs on Burnet in Maplewood (next to Wooley). I've seen TVs in there, so I know he does repairs for those. He's fair and reasonable.
If you can get it fixed, how much would that cost? If they can find the parts, I wouldn't be surprised if the repair costs at least $200. You would still have an old TV where something else can break due to age.
You may as well buy a new 43" LG TV from Amazon for $290.

Want me to speak to your wife for you? She's gotta understand that a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.
Furnish the family with a 60" screen is certainly a man's responsibility.
Thanks all - and sorry I don't know how to reply under a post - but yes, that's exactly what I told my wife - and she told me $$%&^@!!!
For what it's worth:
I recently took a television into One Stop and Ralph suggested that if the parts could be found he'd do the repair if under $50.00, before asking for my approval.
I'd suggest you stop in to talk with him. Based upon his suggested $50.00, limit; it doesn't seem he's looking to take advantage of anyone.
Good luck.

Ralph fixed my LG TV about 2 years ago--cost about $110 parts and labor--well worth it and super-nice guy. Highly recommend.
Ralph will tell you if it's worth fixing, so you don't have to guess. I've brought many things to him, and he'll do some and tell me to junk the others. He's not just a nice guy. He is immensely knowledgeable about many things.

Good morning. We have a 42" LG flat screen (8 yrs old) - that has sound but no picture (the info banner works). I did a little rooting around and know for certain I can't fix this myself. Any tv repair shop/person recommendations out there? And if anyone has a guess on if it is worth getting this fixed I'd appreciate it!
(I was ready to head right out and buy a new 60" as a replacement but my wife told me that was not a good idea - in slightly different language of course)
Many thanks
