I want to pick up a dessert (like cupcakes, cookies, etc) for a party where some of the attendees are orthodox. Where can I find a kosher bakery in the area? (other than Cait and Abbys)

The only one I know of is the West Orange Bake Shop 480 Pleasant Valley Way, which is Glatt Kosher and which is Kosher enough for anyone. (973) 243 1300

(You will want to leave the cupcakes in the box for serving onto new paper plates to reassure the Orthodox. The bakery should apply a sticker with their info. on the box.) Call ahead and order what you want to be sure of not being disappointed in what is there when you arrive.

Supreme Bakery says it's Kosher https://www.supremebakery.com/index.php?about but I believe it is in a similar to Cait & Abby's way, since they are open on Saturdays.

I just ate some of a delicious tiramisu cake from Supreme at a friends' house last night and it was beyond amazing! My husband used to love their pound cake, too, before he went on a strict diet.

Dave, not for orthodox guests...certification doesn't come from a source they recognize.

Crumbs in Westfield is under orthodox supervision--as are all Crumbs locations--though it's not the most widely accepted certification. Gimmee Jimmie's in Livingston has great cookies. Poppy's Bagels in WO has some baked goods. West Orange Bake Shop is the best bet for an all-around kosher bakery. Of course, most markets in the area carry many good quality packaged kosher baked goods, especially Eden and Livingston Shop Rite.
