The card was in his name and listed a billing address that belonged to a family member. If it is fake then someone created the fake account but kept quiet about it for two years waiting for it to be hacked and the info leaked?

Josh's home at that time was owned by his grandmother. She was probably secretly using his credit card for some fun on the side, since he had reformed his life, asked everyone for forgiveness, and received counseling.

Are Ashley Madison clients typically over 18? If so...Maybe we should leave this guy alone. For the children.

If he were an artist or a banker or a farmer I would agree that this is a matter between him and his wife. But that isn't the case. He was employed by a group which lobbied against LGBT rights, pro-choice rights, and other relevant causes because they decided they were immoral and indecent. As such, his hypocrisy (wanting to deny gay people the right to marry while himself looking to cheat in his own hetrosexual marriage) opens him up to criticsm.

The point is, he was making money off of rubes by telling them that other people were living their life in sin.

What's sad is Anna Duggar has no chance of getting out of that marriage. Even as she's now being publicly cuckolded and humiliated, she will stand by him.

I'm not judging people who choose to stay in a marriage after an affair. Just saying she will not believe she even has another option.

While I still have trouble mustering sympathy for Josh, it should be noted that he was raised within a family with very twisted and sick approach to sex and sexuality. It's no surprise to see that he's a complete mess.

Agreed. In almost all cases I would say "he's only human, everyone makes mistakes" (with regards to the infidelity, not the child molestation). But it's his public shaming of others and claim of the moral high road that gets me.

I would venture a guess that most/many people who preach against others' indecency or work as leaders of organizations that seek to deny other's rights based on biblical verses are themselves struggling with the very forms of indecency they seek to eradicate. Stridency about how others live their lives is a defense against hatred of their own "deviant" desires.

It's a psychological defense mechanism called a reaction formation.

The Duggars counseling sexual abuse victims is like the fox watching the hen house.

Either Josh or the parents should be in jail for what happened.
