Joan Armatrading at SOPAC - Oct. 29

Amazingly, there are a few (not many) seats left. I saw her in NYC in the spring at the Ethical Culture Center. One of the best concerts I've ever attended. What an amazingly talented artist. I've been resisting getting tickets for the SOPAC show because I can't really justify the expense after just seeing her. It's her last tour. Highly recommend seeing her if you are a fan.

I don't know, but grrr. The website showed seats available, but if you clicked on them, they disappeared.

No! I'm on the wait list. Surely, there's someone out there whose spouse would be so much happier staying home than going. Maybe I'll try going regardless, in case someone's selling a ticket at the door.

You should do that. Lurk around the box office. People who have to miss a show often call the box office and tell them to resell their tickets.

Alternatively, arrive at intermission and casually drift inside with the crowd right before the show resumes. There are always a few empty seats. I've never actually done this, but I will do it in case of emergency. (Emergency = unable to get Richard Thompson tickets.)

My mom claims that's how she saw the second half of Broadway shows when she was a teen.

I've got a big deadline by tomorrow morning Europe time, so I'm going to see how today goes, but since the "Me, Myself, I" album sustained me in my youth, I'd really like to be there tonight.
