Jimmy Hoffa's Final Resting Place: Incinerator at Bayonne Barrel and Drum archived

Normally, I would not pass on what I heard when I was out running errands at the hardware store. But this story appeared to have the ring of truth (before I go any further, there is no proof other than pure 2nd hand conversation). I have just what I was told by a nice older fellow about what happened back when he was 17 and a black Mercury pulled up with a 55 gallon steel drum in the trunk. So here it goes.

I just got back from the hardware store in West Orange NJ where one of the other customers, "Ray", and I discussed the project that he was working on (a rack system for hauling 55 gallon drums). At one point we discussed Bayonne Barrel and Drum ("BB&D") which at one time was the largest barrel reconditioner in the US. BBD was located at 150-154 Raymond Boulevard, Newark and operated by Frank Langella, Sr. (father of the famous actor). Ray was a friend of the Langellas as his father was also in the same business. Ray needed a quiet place to study for a class at Farleigh Dickinson so he went over to BB&D to study at 7 or 8PM. Shortly, after Ray arrived at BB&D, a black Mercury pulled up with a 55 gallon steel drum in the trunk (the Merc was driven by some Mafioso looking types). The drum was immediately unloaded from the Merc and placed in the BB&D incinerator. Ray was then told by Langella, Sr. to never mention this incident as Hoffa was in the drum when it was dumped in the incinerator.

Ray clearly had some knowledge of BB&D, the Langellas and apparently Hoffa.

What do you think is this just another myth like Hoffa's resting place being "section 106 of the old Giants stadium" or does this story ring true to you also?

Here is a satellite pic of the site today:

If true, that was dumb of Langella, Sr. to say what was in the barrel. Does not seem like someone would do that.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Toss it in and call it a day.

Sounds like a myth.

Maybe Langella, Sr. was pulling the kid's leg.
