ISO straw/hay for muddy walkway archived

Trying to locate a local source for straw or hay to spread out on our very muddy backyard pathway ( front steps are under construction, and now under snow, so we have shoveled a path to the back door.) . Will convert to gravel once the snow melts, but looking for something to prevent / reduce the muck from sticking to my shoes and make things less slippery.

HD and Lowes both stock it, but not in the stores yet, and most gardening centers have not yet opened for the season. TIA

We used almost the whole bag getting into the house. While it was still sinking mud, I didn't track as much into the house as previous days.

Thanks @emmie. At least I have access to an elevator here at Chs. Hope to be crutches-free by the end of the week.
