I've started to not open "What is being said in the Rose Garden"

For giggles and head-banging, I used to keep up with the Rose Garden thread, but I haven't opened it recently and 135 comments have gone by. I'm trying to see how long I can go. Merry-Go-Rounds are fun, but I started to get really dizzy. I'm willing to bet that if I wait for 500 more comments that when I click on the thread, it will still be a MerryGoRound.

I stopped 6556 posts ago....or whatever the number is that represents "after ten posts"

Oh God I loathe that thread and I've only opened it once. It's like an mol cockroach.

I open it all the time. I find it compelling in a slow motion train wreck kind of way.

Of course, after I read it, this is what I look like:

I measure my personal level of work-avoidance by whether I open that thread or not.

I know I'm at a danger point if I go there.

I never open that or the challenges for the pope threads.. I like to stay out of politics and religion..

I have to admit, I've never read any of the Pope thread. Because I frankly don't give a damn about the challenges of the Catholic Church. (and before anyone get bent out of shape, I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic school. I came by my disinterest in the Church through direct experience).

Happy to say I've never opened it and never will! :-D

OK, I'm curious. I'm goin' in.

Something new for a change.

My lord, those are some long-winded gardeners.

You might be interested to know that the pope just performed a miracle. I think he needs one more for sainthood.

Is this the first thread that is about another thread?

No, but usually this is reserved for threads that have been closed and/or removed. Or threads about GL2's GOP of the Year thread.

I thought going to the Rose Garden thread and actually engaging in discussions with IM80 might qualify me for Sainthood.

it qualifies you as a modern-day Sisyphus

I opted out 2717 posts ago...

Gee, if only I'd left the "Running for BOT - 3 incumbent Trustees are uncontested; 2 women competing for VP seat" thread that early... (sigh)

-s.

Although they did just uncover this email response from Hillary to a panicked email from one of her undersecretaries at the start of the Benghazi attack:

"I know we have time to get our armed forces in there to help Amabassador Stevens and the others in the compound, but I never liked him to be honest. We're standing down and we'll just see how the rest of the evening plays out. Talked to the Prez and he's issued the stand down order, he doesn't think this dust up has anything to do with terror, and not offending Libya is of the utmost importance. And why are you sending this on a secure government email system?! Don't ever let that happen again or I'll feed your genitals to a wolf."

Oh, I might have to go back into reading that one. Sounds like fun.

grin) Brilliant!

The one I rarely open is "GOP 2015." It's now about 1200 posts since I last checked it.

Masochism is not a saintly quality.

That's why you should all go back to the Rose Garden thread. You might miss something critical!

My screen says 1117 unread posts, but I think that's only because I clicked it once by accident when I was reading on my phone.

I enjoy the Rose Garden thread. Hope it continues on, despite the fact that I think IM80 is off the mark much of the time. Interesting how some MOLers like to gang up on a normally gentile (IMO), female octogenarian, because she has a different outlook. Like this thread, for example.
I hope you keep pluggin IM80. Keep keeping your head while those around you are losing theirs...

(However, can you tone down the Benghazi stuff)?!

I don't think the frustration has anything at all to do with her political positions. But, believe what you will.
