How did I miss this category?!

Hi all! I’ve been on MOL for a few weeks now. Some meanies but also nice people too!  

Irish native, I’ve lived many places including here in the states. I like SOMA very much except for the restaurant scene. Shocked at how bad it is here but the schools are great, the neighbors are too!

Upper Wyoming.  Im a few houses down from Millburn. Funny, my neighbor pays taxes to Millburn, similar homes but  he pays $3,000 less!

remember that guy who started a bunch of threads about a year or two ago? He complained about no lights memorial park because his date was scared to walk through the park after they had dinner at one of the higher end restaurants in town…. He sounds just like Charlie G

That's not especially surprising is it?

Per data from https://www.realtor.com/research/data/, for June 2023, the median listing prices:

Maplewood: $572,250

Millburn: $1,020,722

Short Hills: $2,747,500

(Short Hills has its own zip code, but is part of Millburn)

You can have a much lower tax rate and still have a pretty healthy tax base when the median properties are that much more valuable.

I moved away just as soon as I could. Haven’t looked back.
