I laughed and nodded in agreement when I saw a PSA from my home state of Texas early in the Covid pandemic that said something like "Wash your hands as if you had just been cutting up a Jalapeno pepper and are about to put in your contacts."

Let's just say you don't want to transfer cayenne pepper or other hot/spicy material to areas you might only scratch in private.
I'll give you another similar household hint: Don't take a shower right after cutting up a long hot pepper that you assumed to be mild (because most of them are) without scrubbing your hands first. It was like being pepper sprayed. I coughed for an hour.
