Home insulation contractor recommendation please archived

I am in need of several home insulation projects ( crawl space, above ground office add on, attic) and would like to know if anyone can recommend any company they have used. I've read that improperly installation can be a big waste of money. I'm wary about using my handyman as I want to leave it to the pros. Thank you in advance,

We also need to have new insulation placed in our attic. A local contractor that we are working with on other projects (foundation repairs, rebuilding of our Yankee gutters and window repairs) recommended Tony at Energy Specialists. We have an appointment scheduled with Tony for this Saturday morning. I can let you know how the consultation goes for us. In case you want to contact Tony, his phone number is 201-933-0468.

You could call Gene from turning your home green, based out of summit, nj.

We used them to insulate our front porch crawl space, and do another larger project.

North Pole Insulation in Whitehouse Station. They blew insulation into all of our walls. When we later renovated and opened some of those walls, you could see that the application was very thorough.

sweet.....just curious if you would recommend the contractor who rebuilt your yankee gutters as we need a rebuild as well? thanks

Goalinmind2 - our Yankee Gutter rebuild project isn't completed yet. We are actually waiting for the contractors estimate, which I expect to receive soon. I'll let you know how we make out with our gutters.

We used Flesher for blown-in insulation awhile back and were pleased with the job. http://flesherhomeimprovementsllc.com/

Thank you for all your replies and referrals.

Summer21, how was Turning Your Home Greens prices in comparison to other proposal you may have gotten? I don't always go with the cheapest but no one wants to go with the highest unless he's blowing little gold nuggets in the walls.

BTW, Gene was very professional , friendly and knew his stuff. I hope his pricing is affordable as I want to work with him. Time to break open the kiddies piggy banks.

Another vote for Acorn -- on time, on estimate, and a noticeable difference in how often the furnace is going.

Acorn here as well - we used them in the Fall after a few comparisons and we were happy with the service and their advice on which parts of the house were worth insulating vs not to get the most bang for our buck.

ACORN GROUP UPDATE:
I will reserve any further comments on the insulation project I hired them for last month until
the owner comes back to my home to " redo" some very poor work done. Let's see how that goes.

Our GC used another outfit. I'm almost positive they didn't do a check for any air leaks. They used spray foam but I thought they'd use cellulose or at least give us a choice.

ditto the poor work by acorn. they did come back to fix but were not pleasant about it, and it really was an embarrassment and a big mess.

+1 for Acorn. We insulated entire house. Very happy with their work.

Acorn Group Update;
The owner Mike came back with his guys to redo my basement and crawl space. They took about 3 hours. The re-installation of the denim insulation and "canned" spray foam looks like a tight seal around the rim joist of the basement and crawl space. Second time around achieved what I expected. So in summary, they blew cellulose material into the 1st floor walls and attic ceiling. They packed the attic "crawl space " walls and ceiling with insulation. The first floor appears to quieter and is keeping the cool air in. The attic is much less warmer and the ac is not working as hard. The hot air is contained in the attic walls and not in the living space.
Not sure if the workers first time around we're in a rush when doing the basement as it was the last part of the long job or if their workmanship is not detailed oriented or they didn't care. That's not my problem. I was glad the owner of the company agreed with me that the work was not up to par and he took the time to be here and have it done correctly. Based upon that fact alone I would still recommend Acorn Group for insulating of your home.
If this helps anybody and you have further questions please feel free to reach out to me at ;
