Goooood Sunday Brunch Buffet: Recent experiences?

Hi all --

Looking for a fairly upscale buffet brunch that would also be fairly friendly to smaller children, if we decide to bring them.  About 8-10 people, so a good variety of well-prepared dishes would be ideal.  We can go anywhere in northeastern NJ, but prefer not to go as far west as Morristown.  Folks will be coming from Hackensack, South Orange, Union.

Mixed reviews on McLoone's and not sure if the Hilton still does brunch.  Anyone been to either of these options lately?

Any other thoughts?

We're doing brunch at Winberies in Summit tomorrow. I've never been but I'm looking forward to it!

I was going to suggest Winberies.  I don't know if it's upscale enough but it's definitely family friendly and a very good selection.

Not a buffet, but we Boulevard 572 in Kenilworth has a great pre-fix menu.  Good service, delicious and classy as well.

How about The Manor?

The Sunday Brunch at The Short Hills Hilton--awesome!!!  Just what you're looking for.

Have you been recently?

I have not--So I just called them--was curious and hungry oh oh

$40 pp, less for kids under 12.  Sounds like the did a big renovation of the space and made the are more casual, but all the menu items sound like they are the same--carving and omelette stations, seafood, caviar, smoked salmon, stuff for kids, desserts and pastries, plus 1 Mimosa per adult included.

But it's not The Manor, mentioned above, and is elegant and delicious.

Good luck!

ETA:  You can bank on The Manor:  http://www.themanorrestaurant.com/assets/templates/manor/pdf/menus/Manor_Sunday_Brunch_Buffet_Menu_0115.pdf

Everyone will love it and it's only a few more dollars that the SHHilton, and I have an uneasy feeling that the Hilton's brunch ain't what it used to be oh oh

^This. It's also kid friendly.

Winberries brunch is ok, but way overpriced. I definitely did not get my monies worth there.

we haven't had any luck finding a great Sunday brunch buffet. Manor is good but I like their Friday/Saturday lobster buffet better. Didn't like SH Hilton last time we were there (2 yrs ago).  I agree that Bistro 572 in Kenilworth is excellent. Sweet waters in Westfield has a very well-prices nice brunch and there's a good offer on Living Social to make it unlimited drinks.

We've not been in years, but the brunch served at the The Molly Pitcher in Red Bank is lovely.

Rods in Madison. Beautiful place, great service and outstanding food. Live piano music. It's next to the Madison hotel. Worth every penny.

Actually, Rod's (and the Madison Hotel) are in Convent Station (just across the parking lot from the train station there.)
