GIFTING DAYS at the South Orange Library in December! Learn how you can give back!

Thursday Dec. 15th, Friday Dec. 16th and Saturday Dec. 17th are GIFTING DAYS at the SOPL!

Give to the following charitable organizations: (Donation site at the SOPL, 65 Scotland Road, South Orange (between Comstock and Taylor Place)

NEW BOOKS! All kinds of new books are accepted at the library (babies through teens) Sponsored by the New Jersey Library Association's Children's Services section. Books will be distributed as gifts to children at libraries in Newark, Irvington and Patterson NJ.

NEW TOYS! Donated unwrapped toys for children (infants through teenager) NEW Winter Acceccories: Scarves, hats and gloves for adults. Toys will be sorted, wrapped and individually given to children in Essex County. Hats, scarves and gloves will be distributed in January by The Salvation Army (NJ Division)

NEW BEDDING! Blankets, sheets (twin and/or crib), towels. Distributed to homeless families and individuals throughout Essex County by Isaiah House.

FOOD! MOST NEEDED - canned tuna in water, dry beans, peanut butter or other nut butter, canned beans, rolled oats, canned fruit in juice (not in syrup), canned vegetables (with no or low-sodium), low-sodium soups. MEND (Meeting Emergency Needs with Dignity) will distribute the collected groceries to families and individuals in Essex County. MEND food pantries include Our Lady of Sorrows in South orange and St. Joseph's in Maplewood.
