FIOS to Comcast: opinions?

Considering switching from FIOS bundle (Internet/phone/cable) to Comcast. Has anyone done this recently? Wise? Unwise? Performance about the same?

I changed from FIOS to Comcast because I moved and FIOS is not available where I live now.

I've had constant problems with one of my boxes -- in 6 months I've had 6 service calls (as opposed to 2 service calls in 8 years with FIOS).  They keep replacing the box and every repairman has a different reason why I'm having the same disconnecting problems.  Each time they've come, they charge me for a service call, and each month I have to call and demand they credit me for those charges (they do).  I don't think the quality of the cable picture/video is as good as FIOS and I've had a lot of outtages.  The DVR is a little better than FIOS -- you can record more programs at one time which is good for me.  But the accuracy of the program guide is as bad as FIOS (for instance, even though you have a show scheduled to record only new episodes, it will record every episode on some programs; recently, I could not record the 7 hour Godfather movie on HBO because they did not set the right parameters in their guide listing -- they programmed it to only record the first hour and 55 minutes, even after I called and brought this to their attention).  Also, with Comcast, you cannot program the DVR to change the channel automatically.

The telephone/internet connections are the same as FIOS -- I haven't had any problems with those.

After my 2 year contract is up, I'll go back to FIOS if it's available then, and if not, I'll go with DirectTV.

Good luck!

I would never have given up Fios if it had been available where we live now.mi am actually on Dish now, which is dreadful. I could have done Comcast of Xfinity, but both cost a lot more. I did go with Comcast for Internet service, and don't love it.
