Fastest way to drive to Yankee Stadium? Best garage to park in?

Assume most direct is GW to Deegan, then off at exit 3, 5 or 6 (or whatever) into one of the garages?  Yes, traffic will be hell I guess... haven't done it in a long time but think it can't be better than the pit it always was... used to park by the market under the Deegan and get right on the 87N on-ramp, but no idea which garage is the fastest to get out of as well as to get me back on 87...

Would appreciate any helpful thoughts.

We had no problems getting TO Yankee Stadium for a concert in 2012.  Getting home, on the other hand, took over three hours.  My mom was watching my then-two year old and was a good sport about having to wait up to 2am for us to arrive, especially considering that at that age my son wouldn't go to sleep without us.

In our case it wasn't parking the the wrong garage that did us in, but rather taking the wrong exit in that garage.  By the time we got turned around everyone was on the road and it was a nightmare.  About an hour or so in we literally saw Yankee Stadium employees walking past us on their way home.

ETA:  A relative who has been there more than a few times recommends public transportation rather than driving if at all possible.

We don't take the Deegan.  Someone (maybe on MOL?) once advised us to stay on 95 after crossing the GWB past the Deegan and take the Jerome Ave. exit.  Then you take that directly to Yankee stadium.  Just before you get to the stadium, Jerome Ave splits - stay to the left and go past the stadium and then park in either the Rupert Plaza Garage (on left) or the 161st garage (on right).  Never had a problem going that way.

I have all sorts of different routes depending on the traffic. The direct is 95 to GWB and the Deegan. If you're too close to game time, skip the Deegan and get off at Jerome. If the GWB approach is really backed up, you can get off 95 at Rt 46 and follow it through Fort Lee to the bridge. I will also, at times, get off right after the bridge into Manhattan and take surface roads down to 155th and go across Macombs Dam Bridge. That can get backed up as well, though, close to game time.

I always park in the Ruppert Plaza Garage (I think that's what it's called). It's the first garage on your right as you approach the Stadium after getting off the Deegan.

Go in a CVS delivery truck. You'll get a police escort and parking right near the Yankee locker room.

I had half of section 127 hysterical (including the few Yankee fans there) when, after A-Roid's HR, I mentioned that I was shocked to see CVS was apparently still open so late on a Sunday.  Hated to see that line not used again.

Anyhoo, took GWB to CBE to Jerome Ave, parked in Ruppert Garage by the far entrance, and was out on 87 in 5 minutes after the game.
